About us

 Bourbon Country Poodles is a family-owned breeder of poodles on 18 acres of beautiful farmland in the bourbon country of Kentucky. Our dogs live inside our home, sleep on our bed, and are treated like family members. They enjoy accompanying me for barn chores, feeding chickens and horses, and getting to swim in our large pond.  They chase rabbits and squirrels in the woods and accompany me on trail rides.  Because of that, you won't see any of our dogs in long, fancy full coats. We prefer them to be clean and comfortable, not fancy looking. I like comfort over looks. They all get along and never bother things off-limits to dogs.  Puppies are born in our bedroom, where they are handled from birth, and closely monitored, then at three weeks old moving to our big country kitchen where they are handled daily, and exposed to all sorts of household noises, children, other dogs, cats, and different situations.  They are also started on weekly grooming/nail trimming sessions. We use Puppy Culture protocol and ENS to ensure a well-rounded puppy is ready to join new families at eight to nine weeks. We welcome visitors by appointment.
